Dr. Bing Han is a senior research fellow at the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).  She has been a Fulbright scholar (August 2018-July 2019) at the Law Center of Georgetown University. She has also served as a visiting researcher at the South Centre in Switzerland and the Law School of Boston University. She holds a L.L.M from the University of Exeter (UK) and a Ph.D. in law from China University of Political Science and Law.


Bing Han’s research interests are in international investment law, international trade law, international human rights law, intellectual property law and innovation policy. Her recent research has focused on intellectual property rules in the ‘new’ generation of international economic and trade agreements and their potential implications to developing countries.

She carries out academic research for various international and domestic organizations, among them the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the Ministry of Finance of China, National Development and Reform Commission of China etc. She worked as an expert of the “Belt and Road” economic and trade cooperation expert group of Chinese Ministry of Commerce's Economic and Trade Policy Advisory Committee (December 31, 2017 to the end of 2019). She was also Chinese coordinator of project “Promoting Global Responsible Research & Social and Scientific Innovation”, funded by European Commission (2013-2016.
