ZHANG Ming

　ZHANG Ming is a senior fellow and the deputy director of Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) under Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS). He worked as the deputy director of Institute of Finance & Banking (IFB) under CASS from 2020 to 2025. Before joining IFB, he worked as a senior fellow in IWEP from 2007 to 2020. He worked as the vice mayor of Mianyang, Sichuan Province from 2021 to 2022. He also worked as the chief economist of Ping An Securities Co., Ltd. from 2017 to 2020.

　His research covers international finance and macroeconomics. In the past two decade his interest fields include cross-border capital flow, global imbalance, RMB’s exchange rate and internationalization, Chinese monetary policy and systemic financial risks. Now he is also interested in Fintech and green finance. He has published a dozen of books, many peer-reviewed academic papers and numerous articles. Before joining in CASS, he worked as an auditor in KPMG, and a PE fund manager in Asset Managers Group (Japan). He received his doctor’s degree from the Graduate School of CASS.
